What is the NHS Tutoring Program?
An accessible opportunity for any student in Westwood to receive tutoring from Westwood NHS members.
For any tutoring related questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
1. Where does the tutoring take place?
All tutoring must occur in the library before or after school OR in the presence of a teacher. The library is open from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on Friday, so plan meetings accordingly. If you wish to tutor in a classroom with a teacher, check the tutoring times of the teacher.
2. Where can I get tutoring reports?
Tutoring reports will be available in Sra Klein’s room (E2104) and on the NHS website down below.
3. How do I get my tutoring hours recorded?
Turn in a completed tutoring report to Sra Klein’s room (E2104) within two school days after your tutoring session and log your hours using the google form under the “Hours” tab on the NHS website.
4. What should I bring to the tutoring meeting?
You have to bring a tutoring report, school materials, and a positive attitude!
5. How often will tutoring hours be updated?
Inside hours for tutoring will be updated every month.
6. I can’t find the person I’m supposed to tutor. What should I do?
Before the tutoring meeting, the tutors and students should tell each other how to find each other, through descriptions such as location or clothing. Also, you will have a sign that says “NHS Tutor,” so your tutee should be able to find you pretty easily.
7. My student didn’t show up. What should I do?
If your tutee doesn’t show up after 10 minutes, then you are free to leave. You will get no points deducted, but you will get no points rewarded either.
